What Last Watched is
Last Watched is an iPhone app for discovering shows and movies, keeping a local library, and recording watch progress. It does not require a Last Watched account, and your watch history is never synced to a Last Watched server. There is no Last Watched account, no library server, and no CloudKit sync.
What stays on your device
Your library and watch progress live in the app’s private container on your iPhone. Core tracking works without a network connection, and this website cannot retrieve any of it.

- A replaceable cache of metadata and downloaded artwork
- A recovery copy that can hold the same library and history if the database is ever damaged
Three things worth knowing
You can export your library and watch history as unencrypted JSON. Once exported, the file is wherever you put it, and the developer never sees it unless you send it.
If you turn on upcoming-episode reminders, iOS schedules them locally. Previews can reveal show and episode titles depending on your iOS settings. Nothing is sent to a notification server.
It clears active saved titles and watched episodes, but not preferences, exports you saved elsewhere, device backups, every replaceable cache, or a recovery copy kept after database corruption. The full policy lists exactly what each control covers.
Metadata requests
Last Watched requests movie and television metadata from TMDB. A request can include your search text, a title or person identifier, a language-locale code from your device settings, and standard network information such as an IP address. Streaming availability comes from JustWatch through TMDB.
Because the app also refreshes stale metadata for titles you have saved, these requests can reveal which titles are in your library, not only what you searched for. Last Watched does not send TMDB your complete library, your watch history, your watched state, or an export. TMDB and JustWatch operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
Support is not always private
The in-app “Get support” link opens GitHub Issues, which is a public channel. Anything you post there, including attachments, can be publicly visible. For anything private, or for a privacy request, email privacy@lastwatched.com instead, and share only what is needed.
If you send the in-app diagnostics report, it carries app and OS versions, language and region, aggregate library counts, and whether TMDB access is configured. It is designed to leave out titles, episode names, searches, individual watch events, tokens, and device identifiers.
Separately, Apple may give the developer App Store analytics and crash or performance reports, including TestFlight crash reports, under Apple’s policies and your device settings. There is no other analytics service and no third-party crash-reporting SDK in the app.
Website delivery
This website is delivered through Cloudflare, which can process standard request information for delivery, reliability, and security, including IP address, request time, requested path, browser or device information, and security signals.
The site is built without analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, session replay, external fonts, or nonessential cookies.
Your choices and rights
Device-only data is managed in the app and in iOS: remove titles, erase the active library, export a copy, change your region, or turn reminders off. Uninstalling removes the app’s active container.
For anything the developer actually holds—mostly support and privacy correspondence—write to privacy@lastwatched.com to request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy. The data request page explains how to ask without oversharing. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator.
Changes and contact
This page summarizes the full privacy policy, which governs if the two ever differ. Material changes get a new version and effective date, and prior effective versions stay in the legal archive.
